Role Overview
Azure Cloud Support Engineers troubleshoot and resolve issues across Azure infrastructure.
They are the first responders when systems break — focusing on debugging, RCA, and reliability.
Core Responsibilities
1. Incident Response & Troubleshooting
- Resolve P1/P2/P3 incidents
- Perform root cause analysis
- Debug VM, networking, storage, and app issues
- Escalate to Microsoft support
2. Monitoring & Alerting
- Configure Azure Monitor alerts
- Reduce alert noise
- Create dashboards and workbooks
- Track SLA compliance
3. Platform Maintenance
- Patch VMs and update systems
- Rotate keys and certificates
- Scale resources based on demand
4. User & Access Support
- Resolve RBAC issues
- Fix MFA and login issues
- Manage PIM access
5. Documentation
- Create runbooks and SOPs
- Write post-incident reports
- Maintain knowledge base
6. Automation
- Write scripts (CLI/PowerShell)
- Build Logic Apps for auto-remediation
- Create Automation runbooks
